Work people

on: Dec/23/03 and its been viewed 516 times

Let me just say - without going into too much detail, when I’m at work and interacting with my peers and colleagues . . there are certain types of people that I enjoy being around.

I enjoy people who are motivated. People who enjoy what they do. People who have ideas and are passionate about their work, and proud of it. So proud of it that they pour tons of effort and really dig in to make the job the best it can be. People who take initiative. People who look at change as a challenge. These are the kinds of people who inspire me at work. These people are the sort that I want to spend my 8 - 10 hours a day with.

That whole saying…”One bad apple”…is applicable to my office. There are a certain few at work who are so negative, you’d think they spend the entire day chewing on rocks and glass - - and are now making the rest of us pay for their pain, discomfort, frustration and pettiness. These are the kinds of people I can do without during the workday. The negative. The people who look for the easiest way out. The ones who make excuses for why they can’t - - instead of looking for different ways that they can. The people who talk around the problem instead of dealing with it head on. They spin their wheels - - they pass the buck — they whine, incessantly, when asked to do something. They complain about everyone and everything else - - but, of course, are beyond reproach themselves.

Those types weigh an organization down like a 2 ton anchor on a paddle boat.

*sigh*

It’s been one of those days.

Girl I hear ya on this one. I used to work at a place that was so negative it was just down right evil. I had to get the hell out of there and did!
