I have to say that I was not so much impressed with wordpress 2.7. A colleague of mine raves about the new version, however I can not really see much added benefits from the 2.3 version.

To that end, I will be sticking with 2.3 for all my sites. Perhaps you can share with us any benefits I may have overlooked in 2.7? Thank you!

    I love 2.7, Marc – but I suppose it’s all a matter of preference.

For me, keeping my WordPress upgraded to the latest and greatest is a priority because that is one of the main ways of making sure that your WordPress installation is secure. Older versions of WordPress tend to get hacked, as undeveloped code becomes prone to vulnerabilities.

In 2.7 – I love the auto-upgrade feature for the core and for the Plugins. That, alone, is worth the upgrade, for me :)

I would agree with you Lisa. The main reason to upgrade to the 2.7 is for the added security features. With all the automated spam on blogs these days, its only a matter of time before someone writes a book and hacking old version of wp blogs becomes very easy.
