Look for an update to the WordPress For Dummies book that will include what’s new and exciting in the newest version of WordPress 2.5. This will be available in a free, downloadable PDF document both here, on my site, as well as Dummies.com. Will keep you posted!

Hey Lisa,
2 Thank you:
one for this update, I am already loving 2.5 RC2 but looking for more out of it.
And one for being my first ever follower on twitter
Alex.

Hi Lisa,
At Leanne’s suggestion, I bought Wordpress For Dummies. Thank you for putting that together! I discovered that there were a few things I knew, and you explained the reasons behind some of the things I knew. What a big help it has been.

Hi Lisa -
First - the book is terrific! Getting a lot out of it. And there’s so much for me to learn, being an absolute WP noob.
Second - I’m not finding the “Presentation” tab in the WP admin panel. I’m assuming the book was written for an earlier version, and they changed the interface. True? Hopefully that is the case (and I haven’t broken something
) and your update will set me straight.
Third - when is the update coming?
Thanks!
Bob

Hi Lisa,

I wanted to get into blogging and didn’t know where to start. I now have your book, but was still confused with WP2.5.
Thank you for the bonus chapter, now I am starting to understand the software.
Cheers
Pete

Lisa,
I enjoyed the book. It convinced me to give blogging a try. I got an account on Bluehost and they installed the latest version.
Your comments led me to select the 3-column right version of Cutline. I know you can’t be expected to support various themes but the author apparently gave up. A bit of searching showed that last Fall someone else agreed to support it. That lasted about a month.
I haven’t found any other theme that I like as much but it does have some problems. They are likely minor to one with the proper background but I have only enough ability in HTML cause problems and assembler language skills that lapsed more than 30 years ago.
If you could answer a couple of questions about disappearing widgets and plugins, or suggest someone who could and would, I would be forever grateful.
Thanks,
Crawford

Crawford - thanks for you comments on the book, I’m glad that you liked it and that it helped you with WordPress.
You may want to start by searching the WordPress support forums for someone who may have had similar problems with that theme…if no one has already posted about it.. submit a call for help in there, chances are you’ll run into someone who is using, and is familiar, with the same theme who could provide some help.
Best of luck!
