Too early for coherence

23 days until C. arrives for his 3-week stay. Lots to do…lots to do. He’s going to come with us to pick out a Christmas tree this year. scarrrrrry! lol

Michael Jackson has totally wigged out. Why can’t someone somewhere decide that his money just isn’t enough to sustain his image anymore and can his ass for child endangerment? I’ll tell you one thing - - if I were to dangle my baby out a balconey like that here where I live? I’d be toast - - my kid would be taken away from me forever and probably sterilized so I can no longer have or take charge of anymore kids ever again. Shit, my town would probably do the same to me if I dangled my cat like that. The man(?) is a freak - disintegrating nose, and all. So, he issues a statement that I suppose is going to smooth everything over and make it all better. He didn’t intent do endanger the life of his child - he would never knowingly do that. I wonder if this statement would fly if the baby had actually fallen to it’s smashing death? Would it be ok that Michael just said “Oops - silly me”? The scary thing about that is - probably. He did buy his way out of child molestation and pedophilia charges years ago. Freak. Freak. Freak.

Oh, and if anything is going to work for the Dems in 2004 - they’d be better off bringing an unknown into the fray. I’ve been watching Al Bore on my TV for the past week while he and Tipper are on their 25-day ‘book tour’ - - and they seem as plastic and as fake as ever. The word desperate comes to mind when I watch those two. You can just see it simmering underneath the surface. Their actions, gestures, words are all screaming “Please like us . . please please like us - - we aren’t so bad!!”. He’s all over the television this week - - giving interviews everywhere possible. And he hasn’t made up his mind on whether or not he’s going to run again? Oh I think the writing is on the wall, Al - who are you kidding? Funny thing - if you’ve followed Al Bore over his career - you would know how he has re-invented himself 50 times, if not more. It all depends on who he is talking to - - what the polls are saying. His position on different issues change as his audience changes. He has been documented several, several (did I say several) times contradicting himself on his beliefs, values and ideas. Click HERE to read about Al Gore’s documented lies and contradictions. This stuff is documented - - public speeches and comments he’s made in front of cameras, conventions and campaigns. This stuff isn’t made up - the guy doesn’t know where he stands on anything except that he’s against Bush - and it’s personal.

Now I’m not against Dems in office. I do sway to the right in my beliefs and values, more often than not. But there is a fair moderate in me. I’m pro-choice, for god’s sake. So that doesn’t make me an extreme right winger. I’m also an atheist - which definitely does not make me part of the religious right, either. But I do believe in keeping the Pledge of Allegiance intact and in schools - - even WITH the “One nation under God” part - - because that honors our tradition as a country. . . it’s part of what our country was founded on, like it or not - - so see? I can be an atheist and NOT be offended by another person’s choice of religion, amazing. In my adult years - I voted for a Democrat once. I did! I voted for Russ Feingold for Senate here in Wisconsin. Although, I have to say it’s a rare, rare moment that I would ever choose a Dem over Republican - - but I do try to keep and open mind and vote the way my heart tells me is the right way. A Democrat win in 2004 is going to be difficult. Of course the political landscape could very well change in the next year and a half - but I doubt it. Bush’s approval ratings are pretty high up there - the country loves the man. The country also seems to be making a shift to the right - going by the recent elections. If the Dems think they have a chance - - then they need to bring up a front runner who is an unknown. Al Bore is just not going to cut it for them - - he’s overdone and there’s way too much for him to overcome, taking his history into consideration. Best thing Al could do for his country - if he is in fact at all concerned about his own party - is to step aside and let someone else take the shot at the seat. Not that the Dems would take it - they have alot of PR work to be done. My immediate suggestion? Get Al Gore outta there - - Get Tom Daschle off the damn microphone and out of the view of cameras and for crying out loud tell Hill and Bill to stay home. They need new blood. They need to stop digging up their old has-beens outta the grave in hopes of a second-birth.

Of course I, in my own petty selfishness - - I do hope they they keep things on track and maintain status quo just the way they are right now. They appear like a party who knows it’s a sinking ship - - they give off the smell of utter desperation - and that’s ok from where I’m standing. I’d just like to see a more interesting race in 2004. I’m selfish that way.
