The Best Kerry Can Do

on: May/24/04 and its been viewed 681 times

When he’s not flip flopping, waffling and being undecided about delaying his nomination - Kerry tries his hand at comedy, and ultimately fails:

“Kerry told reporters in front of cameras, ‘Did the training wheels fall off?’ ” Mr. Drudge reported on his Web site, www.drudgereport.com.

Interviewed by The Washington Times yesterday, Kerry spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter would say only that the words Mr. Drudge reported were “off the record.”

On the record, however - Kerry’s statement was this:

I hope he’s OK. I didn’t know the president rode a bike.”

To treat it on or off the record, the journalists ponder. What do you suppose it would be if Bush had made a similiar statement when Kerry fell off his bike? Or when Kerry fell down on the slopes while snowboarding? Well, if you don’t already know the answer to that question - - it would be the front page splash, honey.

As Michele states - - this comment makes Kerry look silly and small.

Anyone else notice just HOW MUCH he says when he thinks he’s off the record. And somehow that makes it ‘ok’?

Off the record doesn’t mean shit. The man still said it - - it’s not what is in his PR statement that counts, it’s what is in the man’s heart that counts.

What part of that don’t people get?

I think saying it make him look small is an understatement. A childish, petty ass-hammer may be more to the point. It’s funny how usually the first thing out of his mouth is generally the way he really thinks…

Now we totally understand that he was “for” making fun of the president taking a spill before he was “against” it.

I wonder if he’s ever said something before and then gone back and said the opposite? Someone should look into that! ;) LOL

Stephen! By gosh - I do think you’re onto something there! ;)

Gawd, Kerry is such a tool.

And of course, even the ‘on the record’ thing was fudged, as what he actually said was “I hope he’s OK. I was unaware that the President knew how to ride a bike.”

I thought it was quite funny… I wish he had let it stand, I think a sense of humour is important even for a politician.
