No - not ski bum - - but ski bummed.

On Wednesday - I got an email from our local downhill ski hangout - they said:

announces that it will be open beginning Friday, November 26, 2004 at 4:00 P.M. Once again, Sunburst boasts a November opening and is the first ski area in Southeast Wisconsin to open for 2004 - 2005.

Yahoo! The moment I’ve been waiting for! We’ve had consistently cold weather for the past few weeks and they’ve been making snow like crazy up there!

Friday comes . . .

It rains all day and melts the snow.

Back to square one.

I suggested to mrs. knight the other day that we should take a long weekend to go skiing up around Duluth again. She was, shall we say, less than enthusiastic about the skiing thing, but more than enthusiastic on the sitting in the lodge drinking bloody marys thing…

No snow, no mountains, precious little hills…. Florida ski season doesn’t start ’til the next ice age… yeah! Think of me in lat Feb when you are still scraping ice of your car and trudging around in sludge.
