Assistant of Ore. Sen. Dwine is Fired

An entry-level staff assistant to Sen. Mike DeWine, R-Ohio, was fired Friday after an Internet journal of her sexual exploits was made public this week.

The woman, who used the pseudonym “Washingtonienne,” claimed in her Internet “blog,” a public Web page, that she was paid for having sex with a married man she identified as the chief of staff at a federal agency.

“Most of my living expenses are thankfully subsidized by a few generous older gentlemen,” the woman wrote. “I’m sure I am not the only one who makes money on the side this way: How can anybody live on $25K/year?”

Ok - I don’t blog at work because I can’t. I’m in the field most often - and I’m too busy to even think about blogging, much less surfing. But I do know there are many who do, and can. Let this be a word of caution - - careful what you’re blogging, where your blogging, and who has access to that blog. To blog about such personal issues on a work computer - and expect that your employer won’t find out the nasty details of your life…well, it’s simply naive.

For those curious cats out there, here is an exact reproduction of the ‘Washingtonienn’ blog (built from cache). Come on - you know you wanna.

Yeah, I read that a few days ago. She was quite the little intern. I wonder though if she had NOT been blogging from work and had the same content all blogged from home if they would have been able to fire her. Funny story non the less.
