I watched Michelle Malkin on Fox News yesterday - - what a bright woman. I like her style a great deal. However, what I really wish I would have seen was her appearance on Chris Matthew’s Hardball, last night. Although, that would be a reach - I don’t ever watch Chris Matthews. Ever. Ever.
However, I did read Michelle’s accounting of her experience on the show last night - - that woman can heave one helluva mighty pen! The experience that she relays is quite an eye opener, and at the same time, everything that she says about the whole thing is something that I can easily envision out of the likes of a blowhard like Matthews. In the interview he:
1.) Shovels words down her throat.
2.) Challenges her on a book that he, admittedly, did not even read.
3.) Admits that he will not question Kerry over his Vietnam experience.
4.) Even considering the amount of controversy and questions there are surrounding it.
5.) Tries to set her off balance from the beginning by saying “Are you even old enough to be here?”
And more. She writes an excellent response - complete with show transcripts, if you care to read ‘em, appropriately entitled: AMBUSH JOURNALISM…OR MY EVENING WITH CAVEMAN CHRIS MATTHEWS

I like Michelle very much too and missed seeing her on that show - - I even missed her on Fox last night - - glad she is sharing her experience - - wonder if any of the lib media outlets will talk about her experience?

I sent Mr. Matthews a blistering e-mail right after watching his latest meltdown, because I was so TICKED off at his disgusting treatment of Michelle Malkin. Yep, I watched it and got really p****d. How dare him. He didn’t do his homework and looked like a MORON.
He is odiferous with liberal bias ( He reeks).

I read through the transcript and Michelle’s account. I was struck by the fact that Matthews, during three other interviews that show, was not even trying to be balanced. Thurow talked about a Kerry plan for getting out early and Matthews was like, “What th . . . !!! Prove it! Prove it! Prove it!” but then while interviewing Dodd, he allowed Dodd to speculate all day about issues without proof. He did the same with Max Cleland, who talked about Bush hiding behind these guys. Matthews was more like, “Uh-huh. Yeah. Ok.” Where was the balance of asking these guys to prove their alegations??? Nowhere.

Chris Matthews knows what side his bread is buttered on…Many ‘liberal’ news ‘journalists’ act the same way he does, especially in the DC area….While I don’t agree on Mrs. Malkins writings sometimes, I belive that she is more honest and straightforward than the likes of Chris(tine) Matthews.

Balance? You want balance out of the liberal media?
Lordie - I hope you aren’t holding your breath over there! Someone check his pulse!

It’s funny how quickly people forget that Dems were hating Matthews during the Clinton impeachment while he was the darling of the right-wing. Now that Matthews’ BS meter is going off the charts on Malkin’s unsubstantiated rumors, the Repubs are screaming that he’s part of the liberal media establishment. Chris Matthews is one of the only moderators out there who demands facts instead of blindly accepting party talking points. Chris(tine)? Really (Ms.) MacArthur? What’s that about? Some people are so stupidly hateful.

Unsubstantiated rumors? Right. Just the eyewitness testimony of the people on site, including his crew, three of five claiming they never went to Cambodia and the remaining two not talking. Does anyone remember the person named Alston that spoke at the Democrat National Convention? The one that served and BLED with Kerry? The swiftboat vets checked and the action where he bled was with a different commander by the name of Peck. They were both wounded in the action and Kerry had to back off of his claim when Peck pointed out HE was the officer in command of the boat at the time. Alston was wounded and replaced by Short. Short is the one in the pictures and Alston is nowhere to be seen. For some strange reason, Alston isn’t seen standing with Kerry anymore. The swiftboat vets have done more to substantiate their claims than Kerry or the press.
We’ve been told that we can not challenge Kerry’s record if we weren’t there. They were there and are now openly vilified by people that weren’t there. 254 swiftboat vets are automatically called liars instead of the 9 that stand with Kerry. If you have two sides in a debate and one side points out some issues that forces the other side to change their story again and again, which side do you think is telling the truth? The side that holds it’s position or the one that changes? Christmas in Cambodia with Nixon claiming they were not there? Even Kerry’s people have had to back off of that because, 1) Nixon wasn’t President yet. 2) Nixon didn’t make that claim till 1971 and Kerry was out in 69. 3) The Vietnamese don’t celebrate Christmas by getting drunk. They don’t celebrate it at all. 4) They don’t use a swiftboat, made for speed and not stealth, to SNEAK CIA operatives up. (that would be like a Hell’s Angel on an unmuffled Harley SNEAKING into Podunk Arkansas) 5) You don’t “inadvertantly” cross the border since there were concrete barriers and river patrol craft patrolling the border. Finally, they would never send a newbie that didn’t know the area to do the job an experienced crew and commander was needed for.
These guys have been checking maps and records and for some funny reason, rather than read what they have, people assume that what they have is unsubstantiated.

I heard her on Limbaugh yesterday… he gave her about a half an hour or so and they pretty well creamed Matthews.
O’Reilly does the same thing on his show, that’s why I’d rather watch Dennis Miller than either of them.

I didn’t see the Maulkin/Matthews interview, but I read the transcript. I could not understand why he was questioning her about A BOOK SHE DIDN’T WRITE. Why give her the third degree about that book?? She didn’t WRITE it. He didn’t READ it. He made himself look silly.

I saw the segment in question and was up half the night laughing… Michelle tried to use the classic republican smear tactic of quoting a scandalous lie and attributing it to someone else. Chris Matthews then proceeded to slap her around like a ten dollar hooker… cable TV at its finest.
