I’m a Mess

i wrote this on May 24th, 2007 at: 9:08 am and its been viewed 1,536 views

I woke up this morning with a horrendous cold of some sort, have nearly lost my voice and I have three conference calls, a lunch date and a radio interview to do today. When I was contemplating self-employment years ago, somone warned me, “You know, Lisa - you’re not really able to call in sick and have someone cover you for the day.

Truer words have never been spoken.

Plus, I have a sliver in my finger.

Ahhhhhhh… I have a really small violin around here somewhere, that I can play for you if you like!

    Lisa Says:

Awww, you two make a great couple ;)

What’s a sliver? Doesn’t sound good. Is it like a splinter?

  5. 5
    Lisa Says:

    Yep - sliver = splinter

    it’s very ouch

Hope you are feeling better soon Lisa. It must be in the air because I have been fighting the same cold thing all week. My kids are really happy that I have to strain to raise my voice.

    Lisa Says:

Thank you, Char - - so far my son has had this and has passed it on to my husband, who passed it on to me. My kids, too, are rather pleased at the loss of my voice! Heh.

Well… There is this one book that I’d quite like from Amazon. It’s on my wishlist you see, but it doesn’t come out until September 10…

Thank you, Stevie. For a minute this afternoon, I thought I might be feeling better. I had hope - until the fever hit. I’d love to go to bed right now, but my interview is in 2 hours - - so I need to fake it for at least another 3 hours and then I’m crashing! :)

I’ve been hitting the Vit. C like crazy today (between the coffee and McVities lol)

Ooh! You’re gonna hand-deliver me a copy in person?!? Even Amazon’s customer service isn’t usually *that* good! ;)

    Lisa Says:

Why yes, of course — I’ll put the book in a little ziplock baggie and backstroke across the Atlantic. And you thought I was blatanly self promoting in my WordPress 2.2 post? Ha!

Here’s a funny: Go to Google Maps and ask for directions for New York to London - - you’ll find the funny somewhere around instruction #21.

  15. 15

I’ve seen those Google Maps directions.

I made it 1/4 of the way across before having to turn back. You know, I think they’re pulling our legs!

If your book is anything like your blogging I think it’ll be a huge success!

Best of luck with it, Lisa, and I hope you feel better soon.

  16. 16

That’s good… :) It works the other way too!

I feel your pain about being sick and self employed. I have two business that require me to work every day. I guess its the dues we pay.

I hope your feeling better Lisa. It sucks to be sick. I liked the pics you posted. Babies are soooo cute! Good ones of you as well.
