I almost ran over an angel

on: Oct/27/06 and its been viewed 1,438 times

Sometimes there are situations in life that you want to avoid… but not really. What you really want is to be able to move beyond and past the way that situation makes you feel, deep inside. You really want to experience the thing for what is today.. not for what it was yesterday. But.. it sometimes makes you feel and remember yesterday - even though today is completely different. So.. you sometimes avoid it - trying to avoid yesterday .. yet, in the meantime, you’re losing your chances for reshaping it for this day..and tomorrow - all the while apologizing for avoiding it today. I’m grateful for patience.

While I ramble and make absolutley no sense to anyone in this world, but myself - I share with you one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite albums.. and yes, predictably, from one of my favorite artists of the century - - the middle instrumental piece gets me every. single. time:

Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes - Leather

Once, a few years back, Chris read something I had written. His comment to me, at the time, was “You know.. no one gets it. No one understands that except for you. It’s like an inside joke you share with yourself.”

It was a constructive criticism. Yet - sometimes, that’s just the way I prefer it.

I have seen her in concert 11 times, the first time I was in 10th grade, so 1991. She was amazing everytime.

My all-time favorite band is Tool, and when she played Muhammad My Friend with Maynard - I didn’t know whether or not to pee my pants or cry…Have you seen it?

I had never seen that - - I only knew that song in audio only. Thank for sharing that link! I have never seen Tori in concert - but would love to someday. I just think she is so amazingly talented and interesting.

Amazingly talented woman. It’s been way too long since I listened to her so I’m going to have to break out some of her CDs again to play at work. LOVE Cornflake Girl

I have never seen Tori Amos in concert.

Anyway, I feel like the way you described in your first paragraph all the time. Sometimes we feel like we have to recapture the feeling of our past, but it would be better if we could just move on and live today for today and not yesterday. Know what I mean? I’m just rambling now. I’m gonna go. :)
