Holiday Humor

Christmas is really my favorite holiday. I call it Christmas even though I’m an atheist, so all the rest of you atheist types who are offended by the word “Christmass” - bugger off!

I’m also a traditionalist - and I love my traditions. Christmas time to me means special time spent with family and those you love and care about. It’s about everything that the whole year through should be about - and yet, we’re too busy to pay this special kind of attention everyday of the year, sadly enough. I do try, however - - but don’t always succeed.

Christmas time conjures up all sorts of very special, warm and happy memories for me in my lifetime - and that is why this time of year is my favorite.

My warmest wish for you is that you spend the next few days celebrating old memories and traditions - - and then creating new ones with the ones that matter most to you.

That’s what I’ll be doing over the next few days. Remembering old, happy memories created with the people I love most in this world . . . and creating new ones to treasure with the years to come.

Merry Christmas, everyone! Be back after the holidays!

Merry belated Christmas cheer from another Christmas celebrating Atheist…..

…. I actually prefer thanksgiving over Christmas as it is less comercial and we basically do the same kinda stuff and no hint of a religious overtone, I’ve always said the best thing about being an atheist at christmas is that you don’t have to pretend that it’s not about the presents!

Basically I have been far too busy to get online over the break… We cooked on Friday for 23, the oven broke on Thursday afternoon, Handyman fred had to frig it to work otherwise it was going to be Christmas fried chicken. My Daughter’s boyfriend proposed , I have built a Trampoline, a basketball hoop, a workbench, a little people village, a table, two chairs and an eisle AND renetworked my house, fixed two computers, moved the playstation and I even remembered to feed the fish!

So it’s HO HO HO from me and there are less than 365 shopping days to Christmas……

PS. Lisa, your spell thingie is not working, least not for me

Wow - now that sounds like a full Christmas, Fred! Congrats on the soon-to-be-new son-in-law . . that is, providing you like the guy :)

belated Merry Christmas to you too.

It seems my spell checker doesn’t work with the new wordpress version — sometime when I have an extra moment, I’ll look into fixing it. :)

Yes, a full and merry xmas indeed!

Not really sure what to think about the engagementthingie, I think they are too young, they are certainly too imature,I only hope they don’t intend for it to be a short engagement…..

Darn’t werry ibout teh spoolchacker, I thunk mi spooling is geeting butter inyway

You know what, Lisa? This Marmite loving, present opening RedFred guy has kind of grown on me. Weird, isn’t it?

What? He can hear me? Oh, well, I didn’t really say anything bad, did I?

Hey RedFred, how old is your daughter? That’s a big (Uhh, HUGE) step for them. I don’t know what your thoughts are on it, but maybe some pre-marital counseling with a GOOD therapist would be a nice engagement present. I’m a firm believer in it, because it can show them insights of things they may not be aware. Just a thought.

Glad I’m growing on you.. I’m like a mold or fungus, you mean? a Weird Fungus… I can live with that.

Hmmm Pre-marital counciling?… I don’t think so, sorry I’m just not into that kind of thing. Besides I know my daughter well enough to know how she would react to that approach. I will talk to his father and see what we can sort out, it is a very difficult situation, with many different factors to take into consideration.

Jeanette - I completely understand what you’re saying. He’s grown on me too and I miss him when he’s away!

Awww … I miss you guys too……::vomit:: come on group hug…..

After you just vomited? I think not!

RF, I also wanted to say that I hope you’re able to work something out with the other dad. You have a lot going on as we go into the new year.

Lisa, I’m not sure I understand why he’s grown on me. I mean, sometimes he kind of bothers me. Kind of like when I’m driving along and there’s someone next to me going the exact same speed. It’s weird, you know? But then when he’s not there it’s like, hey, where’d that person go? ;)

I love driving along side people, how did you know? I really like it when a pick-up truck trys to overtake on the inside and I can pace him so that he can’t cut me off before he comes up on the slow car ahead…. Did I ever mention I don’t like pick-up drivers ?

  20. Jeanette
    11:05 am on December 31st, 2004

Why, no, RedFred, you’ve never mentioned before of your dislike. Why DO you dislike pickup drivers? But, is it bad to admit that I do the same thing with pacing so I don’t get cut off?

I don’t like Pick-ups because they drive like they own the road, That might be somewhat down to the fact that I live in ruralesqe Florida. I don’t like the way they just pull out in front of you without consideration, in fact I have started doing it to them now, it’s quite amusing to see the shocked look on their faces.
