Happy Days

Thought I’d start up again - just for my own piece of mind. A place to babble on about things that tug at my mind. There’s just so much going on in my life, I know that if I don’t take the time to sit and write about things going on - I’ll drive myself (and my friends and family) insane. The site that was once here was taken down a few months ago, while I paid attention to more important matters. Now it’s been reshaped into a calmer, more toned down version for my thoughts.

There’s been so much happening - too much to begin listing. To wrap my brain around it all is going to take a few weeks of writing to get it all out. Nothing bad at all, quite the contrary. Life has been a whirlwind of really good things over the past months - I have not one thing to complain about. (Mental note: In the future, when things go bad - remind yourself of this time in your life!)

About three months ago, I took my son out of the public school system and began homeschooling him. It’s been a joint effort between my Mom and I - it’s truly amazing the difference in that kid. I’ll write more about it on another day - but I have to say this - the public education system, at least in this area, leaves MUCH to be desired.

In about a month, we’ll be moving into a new house. C. and I found the house we’ve been looking for - and it was no easy task, either. It’s a beautiful white & red brick colonial home on a private 1 acre lot - kind of set out in the country, but only about a 5 minute drive into town. He’s moving here, from California, in the last 2 weeks in May. I was talking to my friend, S., and she said it best when she said, “This is *the* relationship of your life.” I couldn’t have said it better myself - - I’m so happy to be taking this step with him, I could burst.

He just left yesterday, after visiting for a week, helping me find the house we needed to find (more about that later, too). We spent a fabulous week together - and after 2 years of a long-distance arrangement, it’s truly hard to believe that the very next time I see his face, I’ll be calling him ‘Roomie”

The war on Iraq has kept me busy with another site that I own that is purely political in nature. I started that site, with the help of two friends, on March 1st of this year and so far it’s had over 100,000 hits - we’ve recieved national press coverage in the WSJ, NYTimes, The Christian Science Monitor as well as televised coverage on ET!, MSNBC, ABC, FoxNews and Inside Edition and countless radio stations across the country - - with a few Australian and Japanese news stations thrown in there for good measure. Who knew that it would get so huge? Originally I thought I would have a heart attack when the first months worth of webhosting costs came in - after I saw the bandwidth useage we were hauling in. Thankfully, an incredibly nice and generous guy (who serves proudly in the United States Army) who owns a web hosting company, donated webhosting at no cost - because he believes in our cause and is happy to assist in our efforts to support the troops..but also because he gets free advertising on a site with high traffic. That was a lifesaver - - I had never seen hosting bills that high! The site has been lots of fun and will continue to be an excellent political outlet for me. Do I link it here? Nah - I don’t need that kind of traffic here - besides, sometimes ya just gotta separate things in order to maintain a bit of sanity.

I’m still in love with my job - there’s no mistaking that. The more time I spend doing home hospice care - the more I wonder why I wasted 8 years of my professional life working in the thankless areana of Administration! I shall never go back to it again. If I am lucky enough to be able to stay in home care & hospice for the rest of my career - this is where I shall stay.

That’s it for now - ta ta!
