From Mark Steyn:
“And even if he’d never slimed his comrades, there’s something ridiculous about a fellow with four months in Vietnam running as Ike, the Duke of Wellington and Alexander the Great rolled into one.”‘
Indeed!
Kerry: strange, stuck-up… and stupid

Since you really seem to be a political push for Bush, please tell me WHY you think he is a good candidate? I’d be curious to know…not that you could ever change my mind
10:58 am on August 24th, 2004
because he makes decisions based on morlas and ethics, not based on whichever way the political wind is blowing at the time. like the vast majority of the dhimmicrats.

Excellent response, mlah - you took one of mine
Fredette - I’m not looking to change your, or anyone elses mind, on who to vote for in the upcoming election. Bush is my choice over Kerry, by and large, because agree or disagree with him - I generally always know where Bush stands on an issue, he doesn’t back down, he cut my taxes (and no I’m not in the top 1% tax bracket and I still benefited!), and I go a lot on gut feelings and my gut tells me that he’s a good man, his wife is a good woman and his family are good people.
I don’t get that feeling at ALL in regards to Kerry.
That’s the short version - you can read all about my political rants over there. - if you’re so inclined

Also, Bush is not a Nor’Eastern liberal tit.

Studied Out So
Some amusement from this article sitting quietly in my dock. It’s a Brit thing written by one Mark Steyn. he writes:I said a couple of weeks back that John Kerry was too strange to be President, and a week or two earlier that he was too stuck-up to be…

Sorry no offense
but I must be a
Nor’Eastern liberal tit!
I couldn’t help that. That’s hilarious. Well I used to be from that part of the country, but it appears we live in the same state now! I don’t get the packer craze either.
Doesn’t any of this bother you:
“In his first eight months in office before September 11, George W. Bush was on vacation, according to the Washington Post, forty-two percent of the time.” And then we have world’s worst terrorist attack. Hmmm….
The Bush family has close relations to the Bin Ladens. They have been doing business for years. Have you ever heard about the Carlyle Group??
“In all, at least $1.46 billion had made its way from the Saudis to the House of Bush and its allied companies and institutions.” Bin Laden is Saudi — doesn’t this scare you? The majority of terrorists who were in the 9-11 attack were Saudi!
Why did the U.S. government escort the Bin Laden family out of the U.S. quietly after 9-11? Don’t you think we should have held them under suspicion? Considering the fact that Osama had made threats to the Trade Towers? Considering that shortly thereafter we found out that the majority of the hijackers were Saudi? Considering the fact that we held a lot of poor Islamics?
Why aren’t we having more problems with the Saudi’s now? Could it be they have too much invested in our country and President Bush for Bush to act appropriately?
Why have we attacked Afgan. and Iraq?
That’s just a small tip of the iceberg for me…
Peace.
Renee
This is something everyone should read. It you find things that aren’t true, tell the media!

lol Fredette - - opinions stated here by third party members, are not necessarily those held by management.
And of all those things you listed? Not one of them bothers me because I don’t see Michael Moore as a valid source for anything, particularly the theories that you raised in your comment. They’ve all pretty much been disputed, overall.
You’ll have to look them up for yourself, I’ve had this particular debate more times that I care to.
Here’s a link for you.
12:14 pm on August 25th, 2004
Moore is not a valid source for anything ? well neither is the Telegraph, you may as well quote the National Enquirer, I’m sure that if I could be bothered to I could counter quote you from the Guardian, an equally worthless source.
12:17 pm on August 25th, 2004
Well, you probably could, RedFred.
So?
3:36 pm on August 25th, 2004
That sums it up. ‘So what? I already believe what I want to believe.’
I mean, we all know that objectivity just makes you look, you know, liberal. “Seeing both sides of an issue” is just a fancy way to say “flip-flopping.” Better to have a position that can be announced with Conviction, because Conviction cannot be erased by inconvenient Fact.
5:24 pm on August 25th, 2004
Well, Steve - at this point, I do have the conviction, that you speak of, in what I believe.
The “So?” - was more of a… “So, why don’t you, then?” rather than a “So, what?”
Guess my nuance didn’t make it across the screen, huh?
11:50 pm on August 25th, 2004
So nothing I really have much better things to do than look up counter quotes in the Guardian….. well OK I don’t but I still ain’t going there, my point is it seems a little ironic to claim that Michael Moore is not a valid source when your original quote came from the Telegraph, a pillar of virtue (sarcasm)
11:54 pm on August 25th, 2004
Considering that the quote from the Telegraph is an opinion - - you can’t really say it’s unreliable, can you? The quote is the opinon of the author, so how can you really say that it’s unreliable as a source.
A source of what, exactly?
Hmm.
1:07 pm on August 26th, 2004
I was just saying that If I were looking for fair and unbias reporting, fact or opinion, I would not choose Moore or the Telegraph, or the guardian for that matter.
1:38 pm on August 26th, 2004
I think you’d be hard pressed to find an unbiased opinion, within any news organization - or from any political supporter (from either side).
I could be wrong. It’s been known to happen
2:01 pm on August 26th, 2004
Perhaps, but there are more reliable sources than either of these two sensationalist entities.
PS and offtopic, you are into these Blog thingies, has anyone thought to put some kind of spell checker on the comments? I suffer from a cronic inability to spell.

Looks good, I will try it on my PC at home, they don’t let me install stuff here at work, but then again they don’t let me blog either so if there is a way I’ll find it! Thanks

I use it all the time - - it’s a handy little tool to have. Been using it for about a year now.
