Date Night

on: Jan/12/07 and its been viewed 1,319 times

Chris and I are both slammed at work lately. And by slammed, I mean smashed to pieces. We’re both working 15-18 hour days, 7 days a week. And this too, shall pass - but for the moment it is what it is - - and unfortunately, both of us self-employed with our own businesses, we can’t really call in sick to take a break, ya know? As I said, it is what it is.

Our usual 20 minute coffee breaks together 2-3 times in a day has been narrowed down to one 5 minute coffee break. Between work, the kids, the house - there is precious little time left - - both of us really started ‘07 out running!

So tonight…he IM’s me on Yahoo and says “hey, babe - - how about a date? We can sneak out of the house - drive down to Wendy’s and share a burger in the parking lot for 15 minutes? We won’t tell the kids, and they probably won’t even know we’re gone!!”

To which I reply, “You are SO romantic and that’s why I love you so…. meet you in the driveway in five!”

Ahhhh, love.

Oh, man. Much as that brief time spent away from the house and responsibilities probably seemed great–I hope 2007 has much better surprises in store for the two of you. Romance written even larger than a burger in a parking lot! Just imagine. LOL

it appears to be a fact that right now you cant do anything else with your life - but work like zombies. this will eventually change, and then it was all worth it!
