Really, what does pumpkin carving have to do with WordPress…or vice versa?? Well, nothing really - - not literally, anyways. But, hey - this is the internet… we can make associations between things that were never associated before.
As Halloween approaches and all the goblins and ghouls come out to play (a/k/a/ those pesky munchkin-types who come to your door looking for sweet treats) - - people also bring out the big, bright orange gourds, otherwise known as pumpkins - and carve them into artistic masterpieces.
Enter Leanne’s 3rd Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest. She’s been running the contest for the third year in a row and gets a surprising amount of participants - each of them excited about the possibility of winning the contest, hands down. Here are some samples of winning carvings from years gone past:
The really cool thing is that this is the first year that Leanne is offering up prizes for the winners of the contest - starting with her own donation of a $25 Amazon Gift Certificate!
And some really generous, wonderful and Halloween-spirited author donated a free and autographed copy of WordPress For Dummies. The book is released in the early days of November…. almost making it for Halloween.. just not quite.
