What is worse than taking a big gulp from a cup of Starbucks coffee and realizing that it’s just plain coffee when you’re expecting your favorite quad-shot Carmel Machiatto??

Nothing!

* spit *

Spit? Well, I guess that answers that question that was left out of those five threads that Jeanette keeps re-reading…

Stop wasting your money on fancy flavours you dont need. Grab a jar of “blend 37″ from the supermarket, try it, its good. Mmmm black coffee….

    …quad-shot Carmel Machiatto

I’m not sure what that is but I thought you mentioned coffee… you know, that hot, black, liquid that tastes like coffee?

Whats wrong with a nice cup of tea…..? Milk, two sugars, none of that Ice crap. and a couple of McVities Chocolate Digestives.

Sounds like a perfect cup of English tea!

My Carmel Machiattos have 4 shots of espresso in them . . . some milk, laced with a bit of carmel drizzel across the top.

    Yummmmmmm!

Have a friend who’s currently doing Chai tea with a shot of expresso in it. I gotta remember to try that one of these days…

Marmite on toast, Weetabix and a cupa…. quite possibly the ultimate breakfast.

Blech!!

I just have to reaffirm that WordPress ROCKS, man!

I’m in the middle of doing some custom work for a new client who has a TypePad (SixApart’s hosted, paid version of Movable Type) blog. I have a ‘dummy’ TypePad account, because I’ve had quite a few TypePad customers, actually - and it’s worth it for me to have the account to play around in when designing new, custom skins for my Type Pad clients.

I can’t take it!!!!!

It is sooooooooooooooo slow!!

All those templates are enough to make a person scream…..loudly!!

I’m over working in TypePad and my fingers and brain are SCREAMING for the seamless ease of WordPress!

Plus - the servers that SixApart runs for their TypePad clients are so excruciatingly SLOW! I could write a 3,000 page novel while waiting for the rebuilds.

I should mention here that WordPress has no rebuilds.

Ok. End of rant - thanks for listening.

Thanks for this post, I have still been dragging my feet on making the switch. I guess I will have to jump on it this week. Easy install? Easy import/transfer of my old stuff?

Vox - it’s so easy it’ll make you cry tears of utter joy :)

Do an export of your MT entries.

    Do the WordPress install.

Run the importmt.php script found in the wp-admin folder.

Should take but a few minutes and you’re done. :)

I totally agree with you. WordPress is so much better than Movabletype or Typepad or any blogware for that matter. I feel sorry every time I go to a Movabletype blog.

Well for those trapped in TypePad…thanks for designing for us! I love my template you built. I tried to install wordpress but can’t seem to figure it out. Does it go on personal pc’s?

Help! Is there a way for me to move all my posts over to my WordPress blog?

If there is please let me know by posting over at my site. Thanks so much!

Yes there is. do an export of your TypePad data — then use the import-mt.php function in WordPress. Works like a charm :)
