Here, in Wisconsin, we have a Senate race about to begin to unseat our current U.S. Senator, Russ Feingold.
We have two Republicans up for selection, in the primaries, as the candidate of choice to run against Feingold.
Russ Darrow, is from my hometown. He claims to be the “Right Russ” for the job. He’s a successful businessman from the area, making his name as one of the largest and most successful car dealers in the area.
This begs the question : “Would you buy a car from this man??”
Nope. I wouldn’t. See, I remember Russ Darrow as a drunken, pathetic man from my days as hostess at a restaurant in town called Timmers. It’s a quaint little place out on the lake - and I worked there when I was 17 - 19 and mostly tended the quiet bar where people came and went, as they waited for their tables to be prepared and ready. Back then I was cute, perky, blonde and young - - and the rich guys that came in loved to sit and drink and chat. Russ Darrow was one of them. Many a night the man would sit and drink and throw innuendo in my direction. Even as young as I was, I saw through the man back then — an unhappy man with a drinking problem who became even more pathetic with each ounce of alcohol that he consumed. Recently, a family friend who works for the local Sheriff’s department recalled how many nights he, or his guys, would have to take Darrow home from local sports events because he was too drunk to drive.
Darrow always left a really bad taste in my mouth - - waaaay before his run for Senate. These days, he is counting on his name recognition and his large bank account to get him a place in the Senate representing my state.
Not this girl, however. My vote is going toward Bob Welch. He is experienced in politics, experienced in Washington and he’s the man to run against Feingold and WIN. He is for tax cuts, for Homeland Security and National Defense, against partial-birth abortion, and feels that the state of Wisconsin deserves better than a Senator who spends his time opposing the President at every single turn - when there are other areas of legislation that need our Senator’s attention:
Ironically, at the same time Senator Feingold was pushing to severely limit the First Amendment rights of organizations and individuals who try to criticize politicians when they face re-election, he was rolling up his sleeves preparing an all out assault on the motives and moral integrity of our President. Wisconsin deserves better.
For my Wisconsin readers - - I do hope that you look into the record of Bob Welch. Read about him, his history and his stance on the issues and I hope that you don’t just go the ‘name recognition’ way of voting. Bob Welch is the man for the job — Russ Darrow is just the man with the name.

How can someone be for Homeland Security and National Defense while taking away the means to pay for it? Where is the money going to come from — our Social Security checks?
I hope your Wisconsin readers think rationally, and choose a Senator with a logically consistent platform.

You assume his issues are ‘prior’ ones. They’re not. As I said, there’s much about the man that leaves a bad taste in my mouth - - I just didn’t go into detail because I don’t want this post turning into a campaign advertisement for his opposition. lol
