I tried that Instant Gratification - get an IM anytime someone visits your blog” thing. I have to say that it drove me absolutely bonkers!
I thought it would be a fun thing to try. I’m always up for trying out new blogging features, add-ons, tools and other thingies and toys. So, I tried it and it drove me nuts…I deleted the code off my site and won’t regret seeing it go bye bye.
I just have to say - - anyone who is that tied to their blog traffic needs to get a life. lol I have the referrers script at the bottom right of my site, which serves two purposes, really - - it saves me the extra clicks of logging into my site counter and it gives a link back to any site that has linked to me, instantaneously. That’s about all the blog traffic report I care to receive.
The AIM Instant Messaging service has hit the garbage - and there it shall stay.

Ms Lisa: what referrers script do you use? I tried the one that I see at most of the sites that I visit that gives a list of referrals in the last 24 hours. It just seems to either screw up the column widths or slow down the age loads. Then, it says someone referred to your site 50 times in the last 24 hours… not very acrurate for my money. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I totally agree, Geoffrey . . it just did NOT sit well with my three hits a day.
